Behavioral Health Services: Montgomery Cares Behavioral Health Program
What is the Montgomery Cares Behavioral Health Program (MCBHP)?
MCBHP offers services for emotional concerns like depression or anxiety within the primary care health center. We use the Collaborative Care Model, where we work with the patient, primary care provider, behavioral health providers and a consulting psychiatrist as your care team. This is a model created by the AIMS Center at the University of Washington that can make behavioral health services easier to access.
What we offer:
The following types of behavioral health issues can generally be met "in-house" by the MCBHP staff in the primary care health centers:
Depression
Anxiety
Panic attacks
Stress
Insomnia
Interpersonal Issues
Intimate Partner Violence**
Risky substance use**
Social Service/Resource needs**
** Patients with more intensive needs may be referred out for services.
What are the benefits of MCBHP?
Receive care in a comfortable, familiar setting—the same place you receive other health care.
Get any prescriptions from your primary care provider, without waiting for an outside psychiatrist.
Get care in Spanish if you prefer. The MCBHP team is English/Spanish bilingual.
Who can receive MCBHP services?
Eligible patients are those who have or are eligible for Montgomery Cares at the 9 MCBHP partner sites:
Holy Cross Health Centers (Aspen Hill, Gaithersburg, and Silver Spring)
Islamic Community Center of Maryland (ICM)
Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic
