What we offer
We provide generic medications, free brand name medications, diabetic testing supplies and immunizations to patients through two medication services: Medbank and Montgomery Cares Community Pharmacy. We also partner with Good Pill to offer home delivery of medications at an affordable price.
What is Community Pharmacy?
Community pharmacy provides free prescription medicine to Montgomery Cares patients at their health center.
How does Community Pharmacy work?
Your primary care provider prescribes an immunization, medication, or medical device to treat your health concern. If you are enrolled in Montgomery Cares, and the medication is available at your health center, they can fill the prescription onsite and free of charge. Note that medication availability varies by health center.
What is MedBank?
Medbank navigators help qualifying patients get free, brand name medications for long term, chronic illnesses through pharmaceutical companies’ patient assistance programs (PAPs). Because different companies have different eligibility rules and applications, Medbank navigators walk patients through the process of applying for the medications they need. This is a way to access medications that are not available at participating health centers.
How does Medbank work?
Certain medications that are not available at the health centers can be obtained with Medbank.
The Medbank navigators help patients apply for free medications and track the progress of each patient’s application.
Once an application is approved, patients generally receive a 90-day supply of the medication. Medications are usually shipped to the health center.
Patient enrollment in the Medbank Program is valid for one year from the date a complete application was received.
What is GoodPill?
GoodPill is an outside partner to deliver certain medications straight to your home, often at a low price. Cost varies by medication, with typical prescriptions priced at $2-6/month and rare, high-cost prescription priced up to $100/month.
